Surviving to Thriving with Your Powerful Community

We are wired for it, but somehow aren’t always part of connections that allow us to thrive. At one time, we were dependent on our community for survival. Even though that’s not the case anymore, having community still supports and propels us to the most amazing versions of ourselves.

I was recently craving a community to help me stretch my comfort zone. Watch the video for my story, and how community can support you.

 

 

Some ways to harness the power of community

  • Be open to collaborating with new people.
    • People that understand your circumstances, but aren’t personally tied to your outcomes can be your best supporters.
  • Be willing to invest in yourself.
    • Committing to a mastermind or coaching group not only allows you to invest in yourself (your biggest asset), but connects you with a group of people that are as committed to growth as you are.
  • Have trust in your community and yourself
    • Stretching your comfort zone for self-growth can be uncomfortable, and trusting the people in your community to comfort and guide you can make the life changing difference of pushing through your fears instead of bowing down into old habits

Accomplish More with the Amazing Power of Sleep

Most of us don’t get as much as we should because we’re so busy. Yet a lack of it causes us to accomplish less, and we end up needing even more time to get things done. I’m talking about sleep, ladies!

Sleep is one of those things where quantity and quality are important. Getting enough sleep is just as important the quality of the sleep you are getting by taking advantage of the fire hours. Watch the video to find out more, and why I’m actually pretty good about getting enough sleep – it’s not because I’m a highly disciplined person, lol.

 

 

Here are my hints to get your best sleep

  • Make your bedroom a cozy sanctuary that tempts you to it every night
  • Get ready for bed, and get yourself in it by 10pm. If your current bedtime is much later, move up your time by 15 -20 minute increments over time.
  • Avoid screens before bed – phone, computer, even TV

How Harmony Happens

Many of you may have shared in the celebration of Easter this past weekend. For us, there was even more to celebrate, and I’m not referring to April Fools 🙂

This year our celebration for Sizdah Bedar fell on the same day as Easter. Sizdah Bedar is the 13th day after the Persian New Year. This is when families go outdoors and spend their entire day in the park playing, having fun, and soaking in their families and the fresh air.

We started our morning with an Easter egg hunt, followed by some deviled Easter eggs. My husband then got right to work on making a delicious Persian feast (no cooking on Easter was a great gift to me indeed!). We ate outside, then headed to the park to meet up with other families to play frisbee, volleyball, and walk around.

I have to admit, I was pretty tired after being up late doing Easter prep, so we spent the end of the day in relaxation mode, which is also a true gift to me.

The ease of the day really struck me about how how harmonious life can be when we create an intention, and put in the effort to make it happen. My schedule for the entire week reflected my goal of having two great celebrations with my family, and taking small steps toward that goal each day allowed it to come to be.

This is so true for all of the aspects of our life. If you want something and make an intention, but not a plan, it doesn’t usually fall into your lap. You have to create strategy, and put in some effort to manifest your life’s cravings, but it’s absolutely worth it!
